AE 481W/482 Course Reflection

During my Architectural Engineering senior thesis I have learned many things. It was greatl to dive back into the knowledge of the other options and apply them to your own personal building. Using the individual breadths really dusted off some of the cobwebs to get myself back into some good work. After a long year of work I feel very confident when I say I am ready to graduate and am well prepared for whichever job or position I may receive. By each student having their own building to learn from and study it really put the emphasis and responsibility on ourselves to do well.

From all that I have learned, I would say the actual communication with companies was the best part of the thesis process. I'm not just talking about email either. I was on the phone with Gilbane, CENTRIA, Harmon Inc., DAVIS, SK & A, and others. Some conversations went well and some didn't, but that is real life and it was a great real life experience. After all was said and done I feel the entire project ended very well and I feel I have done very well.

CPEP & Discussion Board Reflection

The CPEP site ran pretty smoothly and making our own webpage was a real nice way to show family and friends your work. Dreamweaver was not the easiest tool to figure out but after you get the hang of it, it isn't too bad. There are still a few problems I have had gettin my webpage to look exactly how I have wanted it to, but after struggling with it for hours on end I feel my thesis webpage has turned out fairly well.

I feel the discussion board was not as helpful as I would have liked. I asked a few questions on there with no response from anyone. I did use some responses that others have gotten back to help aid some of my thesis proposal and outcomes. With that I would say it wasn't completely a bad form of communication, but I feel it could have been better.
